Assistant/ Associate Professor- Pediatric Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine

West Virginia University School of Medicine and the Department of Medicine seek a physician for Pulmonary / Critical Care Medicine (ranks available: Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor).

This excellent opportunity would hold joint appointment with The Department of Medicine and Department of Pediatrics/ Children's Hospital. The successful candidates will be expected to practice in Morgantown, WV. (Depending on operational needs, a successful candidate may also be assigned to provide services at additional worksites in West Virginia and Pennsylvania. In such instances, travel would be anticipated and expected to fulfill said duties at these additional sites).

Our new 150-bed Children's Hospital has a full suite of pediatric operating rooms, cardiac catheterization lab/interventional radiology, and GI-endoscopy with dedicated pediatric anesthesia staff. The hospital includes 34 pediatric beds, 54 NICU beds, 26 PICU beds, a Heart Center, and a dedicated Cancer Center. WVU Medicine Children's is a Level 2 Pediatric Trauma Center, with plans to become Level 1, as it is for adults currently. There is also a Birthing Center including a 30-bed obstetrical unit and maternal-fetal medicine clinic. J. W. Ruby Memorial Hospital is the only hospital in West Virginia with a pediatric cardiac surgery program, the only epilepsy monitoring unit in the state equipped to serve children, and the only hospital in the state to receive Magnet status for nursing excellence

A successful candidate will devote 50% of the time at the West Virginia University's Comprehensive Adult/ Pediatric Sleep disordered Center and the other 50% at the Pediatric Pulmonary / Children's Hospital. In addition to providing excellent patient care, the successful candidate will also be actively involved in the teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows. Clinical interest should include obstructive airways disease, interstitial lung disease, pulmonary hypertension, sleep, infectious lung disease or cystic fibrosis.

Qualifications: applicants must have a MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent and be eligible for state medical license. Successful candidates must be board certified or eligible in Pediatric or Adult Pulmonary, Pulmonary Diseases, and Sleep Medicine. All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment. Immigration support may be available.
