500 hour internship for Quality Management Department.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:

1. Candidates must be currently enrolled in a Master's Program associated with Healthcare Administration at an accredited university

CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The statements described here are intended to describe the general nature of work being performed by people assigned to this position. 1. Understand the goals and planning process of the organization and how they are determined, and to understand the priorities of the organization and how and why they were selected.

2. Participate in the improvement efforts of the organization by applying concepts of change to the healthcare environment.

3. Collect data pertaining to improvement efforts.

4. Analyze the decision-making process at different levels of the organization.

5. Determine improvement opportunities based on data analysis.

6. Evaluate improvement efforts by comparing before and after data.

7. Understand the dynamics of relationships between various stakeholders.

8. Obtain an understanding of the operational effectiveness of the organization.

9. Enhance the student's understanding of the health care industry, the organization's strategy and distinctive competencies.

10. Provide an environment to enhance their understanding of, and the controlled application and testing of skills, theories, and concepts presented during the academic year.

11. Strengthen the student's judgment, decisiveness and related administrative skills in a healthcare environment.

12. Provide a basis for developing a code of ethics, philosophy, and a dedication to high ideals and standards of healthcare management.

13. Provide an opportunity to evaluate the student in relation to his/her needs for professional development and potential for a career in healthcare management.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

1. Excellent writing skills are needed as well as the ability to make effective oral presentations.

2. This position will require familiarity with MS Office software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
