Are you looking for a flexibleUtilities Right of Way Agentposition? ORC is seeking an on-call non-exempt Agent who willwork remotely out of their home office and must reside in the Evansville, INarea. This position is great for someone looking for a revised work schedule. ORC does not guaranteea set number of hours, instead it's driven by project needs.

The agent will work in numerous disciplines throughout the right-of-way project lifecycle in support of the members of the project team. The Agent will be working with the client, landowners and stakeholders ongas and electricprojects.

Responsibilitiesmay include, but are not limited to:

  • Ensuringcompliance with applicable laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures
  • Performingright-of-way acquisitions, depending on experience level may requireadvancedright-of-way negotiations and easement acquisitions
  • Preparingreal estate documents
  • Performingproperty research for ownership and boundary information
  • Communicatingwith property owners and their representatives for the acquisition of easements
    • These interactions may occur outside of traditional business hours
  • Performinggeneral administrative / clerical work as required, including but not limited to preparing legal documents, reports and correspondence, attending meetings, entering and retrieving computer data, copying and filing documents for file management, verbal and written communications with customers; customer service and related functions
  • Trouble shooting complaints and issues

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of one(1) yearof Right of Way acquisition experience
  • Active Indiana Real Estate License (License must be hung with ORC)*
  • Active IndianaNotary or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire
  • Must be proficient with MS Office Suite, specifically:
    • Excel - able to add/delete rows and columns, sort and filter, search for data within a workbook and other basic formatting
    • Word - must be able to format documents and letters, and track changes made to documents; must be able to upload documents into a shared online database, such as Dropbox or equivalent
    • Outlook - create/maintain outlook calendar; effectively sort and organize outlook emails
    • Dropbox - create/maintain files within electronic database
  • Must have an iOS or Android smartphone to be able to access ORC's systems
  • English language proficient
  • Valid Driver's License

Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to clearly communicate and exchange information in person, via phone and email. Substantial repetitive movements of the wrists, hands and/or fingers due to high computer usage and typing. Expected to spend long spans of time in front of a computer screen. Able to read, understand and interpret department related documents and data. The employee is required to move about inside the office to access files, office equipment and to interact with other members of the staff. This role requires the employee to occasionally travel to meet with clients or vendors which involves time driving; sometimes for long durations. While meeting with clients and vendors, will need to be outdoors traversing different types of landscapes. May be exposed to the elements (heat, rain, snow, cold).
