IFF is seeking Shipping Technicians to join our Institute site near Charleston, WV! The Institute site is home to the POLYOX business through Nutrition and Biosciences, and is a world leader delivering innovative and sustainable solutions across food, health, pharma and biotech industries.

As a Shipping Technician, the incumbent will be responsible for preparing finished product for packaging and drum shipment. This will also include inventory management, shipping and receiving functions as well as forklift operation for material movements.

The main responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Conform to plant safety and environmental policies, accepting responsibility for personal safety
  • Work in, and comply with, cGMP guidelines
  • Package, prepare, and load product for shipments as needed based on demand
  • Assess shipment needs against production volume and organize material inventory as needed working with shipping coordinator
  • Load and unload product/packaging material through use of fork lift
  • Application of proper package labeling and shipping documentation with regard to D.O.T. requirements
  • Ability to work in a team environment and communication with other employees using multiple methods of communication
  • Participate on organization EH&S teams and initiatives to implement solutions and improvements
  • Maintain a high degree of motivation by being flexible, displaying good leadership, and being able to prioritize and make informed decisions to meet business requirements
Job Requirements

The following are required:

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Knowledge of distribution/shipping D.O.T. requirements
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Excel, Word
  • Willing and able to: lift or move up to 50 lbs., climb stairs, ladders
  • Willing to work both days and evening shifts, M-F

Note: For consideration for the position, candidates must participate and be successful in an online assessment, interview process, and pass a drug screen, background check, physical screen, etc.

The following are preferred:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience/education in distribution/warehouse operations
  • Knowledge of distribution/shipping D.O.T. requirements
  • Experience working in cGMP facility

The Pharma Solutions business will be taking on its next chapter of growth as a trusted partner for thepharmaceutical industry with the announcement to sell Pharma Solutions to Roquette. This move will positionPharma Solutions to expand its industry leadership through continued investment in innovation to meet theevolving needs of pharmaceutical manufacturers and developers worldwide. The sale is presently expected to close in the first half of 2025, pending regulatory approvals and other closingconditions. The Pharma Solutions business unit will remain a part of IFF until close and, at such time, it willtransition to Roquette.
