GAI Consultants, Inc. is seeking a motivated Senior Project Technical Specialist to be part of our Energy Business Unit. This position is based out of our Charleston, WV office, working on a variety of projects around West Virginia and surrounding states. We are searching for an energetic, outgoing person to support projects associated with roadways, landfills, solar development, power stations and abandoned mine land reclamation projects. Candidate will be eligible for a sign-on and/or relocation bonus.

The job will consist of planning and development of site grading plans, roadway drainage, stormwater management design, landfill design, erosion and sedimentation control, floodplain management, and various permitting for stream activities, construction stormwater, NPDES, and solid waste facilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare NPDES permitting applications for construction stormwater and stream activites
  • Erosion and Sedimentation Control layout and design
  • Hydrologic and Hydraulic analyses
  • Site grading and earthwork plans
  • Roadway Drainage Design
  • Design of Abandon Mine Land Reclamation Projects
  • Stormwater Management Plans
  • Preparation of engineering drawings and specifications
  • Solid Waste permitting and design

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferred Civil Engineer.
  • 8 years experience.
  • CAD capabilities required, Civil 3D and/or OpenRoads is a plus.
  • Experience with Hydrology and Hydraulics (H&H software).
  • Strong Communication Skills (written and oral).
  • Proficient with MS Office Software (Word, Excel).
  • Occasional Travel with some overnight stays required for project site visits, fieldwork, and meetings at our Homestead, PA office (5% of the time).

Education
Bachelors of Civil Engineering (preferred)
Bachelors of Engineering (required)

Experience
