We're looking for our new EHS Specialist to work with the EHS Department to plan, direct, and implement Solenis' s environmental health and safety programs and to ensure a positive, safe, healthy, and incident-free work environment. You will liaise with the environmental and safety regulatory agencies at the federal, state and local level, for the South Charleston, WV site. The position will have you respond to emergency situations when they arise and support EHS operations and staff to foster a zero-tolerance culture.

  • Manage the implementation and maintenance of all EH&S programs and RC14001 compliance at the site.
  • Effectively implement and demonstrate the vision and values to continuously improve environmental and safety performance.
  • Implement programs with operations, maintenance and site contractors to ensure compliance with applicable environmental regulations.
  • Drive change associated with improving environmental performance under CAA, CWA, RCRA, CERCLA, TSCA and SARA regulations.
  • Identify all applicable OSHA regulations and their impacts on the site and provide training to affected site personnel and implement programs to ensure compliance with applicable safety regulations.
  • Manage plant EHS Expense Budget and drive cost reductions.
  • This position may require some off hours on-call availability.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's level degree in a related field of study
  • Strong knowledge of EHS regulations for example OSHA, CAA, CWA, RCRA, SARA, TSCA, CERCLA and DOT
  • Ideally EHS experience
  • Knowledge of manufacturing operations and equipment usage
  • Good written and oral communication
  • Experience providing leadership and coaching to employees.
