Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the Hospital, Physician Offices and Convent.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:

1. High School diploma or GED equivalent required or ability to obtain GED within 6 months of hire date.

CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:The statements described here are intended to describe the general nature of work being performed by people assigned to this position. They are not intended to be constructed as an all-inclusive list of all responsibilities and duties. Other duties may be assigned.

1.Cleans bathrooms, patient rooms, offices, surgery/recovery, doctor offices and trash chutes, morgue and all areas of the hospital.

2.Responsible for all types of floor and window care and wall washing.

3.Adheres to organization health and safety standards.

4.Knowledge of linen distribution and assures that all linens that distributed are spot free, odor free and of adequate supply.

5.Provides a safe and clean environment for everybody.

6.Cleans up any accidental spills that could be a safety hazard to patients, staff or the general public.

7.Keeps assigned work area(s) clean and in order.

8.Safely operates equipment such as, buffers, sweepers, etc.

9.Reports any damaged or broken equipment to the Housekeeping Supervisor/Vice President,,Support Services immediately.

10.Adheres to hospital's Infection Control Policies.

11.Assists the Housekeeping Supervisor with departmental tasks when necessary.

12.Requires precision, accuracy, and timely performance of all job duties.

13.Participation in community projects for hospital and community well-being expected.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

1.Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting equipment.

2.Includes handling, lifting and carrying heavy items weighing up to 40 pounds.

3.Requires the ability to operate the various types of cleaning equipment.

4.Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time.

5.Requires working with numerous chemicals.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

1.Must have multi-tasking abilities.

2.Must be able to work all departments of the hospital and physicians offices including flexible shifts and weekends.

3.Must use good interpersonal communication skills with the hospital staff and the general public.

4Must have the ability to efficiently work as a member of a team and must relate well with others.
