The John Chambers College of Business and Economics at West Virginia University is currently accepting applications for a Graduate Programs Recruiter.

About the Opportunity

The West Virginia University John Chambers College of Business and Economics is seeking a graduate programs recruiter. This position is responsible for supporting the strategic graduate programs recruitment initiatives and reports . The incumbent will be responsible for the formation, implementation and assessment of recruitment strategies to attract graduate students for the on-campus and online graduate programs for the College. Additionally, the incumbent will be responsible for conducting institutional research, analyzing data and identifying best practices utilized by peer AACSB business schools. Emphases is placed on finding new sources of students and attracting students with competitive academic profiles and increasing the conversion of graduate students in the admit pool.

What you'll do:

  • Utilize innovative recruitment techniques and marketing methods to develop, plan, organize and execute a nationwide recruitment plan.
    Support the design and creation of (in collaboration with the College's strategic communications unit) electronic and printed recruitment materials. These include inserts, post cards, electronic newsletters, web pages, communication plans, etc.
  • Travel extensively within the state and around the country to meet with prospective students interested in pursuing a graduate degree in business.
  • Assist students with the University application process and make referrals to academic and student support units (e.g. Office of Financial Aid, Housing and Residence Life, Undergraduate Scholars Office, Office of Disability Services, etc.).
  • Research and map organizations that have large percentages of students who might be interested in pursuing a graduate business degree.
  • Work closely with the leadership of the college to draft articulation agreements between the College and universities in state, the country and internationally.
  • Monitor and assess social media types to determine which ones are most effective in recruiting graduate students.

Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's degree in a related field is required. Masters Preferred. An equivalent amount of education and experience may also be considered.
  • One year of experience in corporate and/or personal sales OR college admissions/recruiting OR marketing/social media.
  • Ability to relate to the concerns of prospective students and the ability to counsel them on these concerns.
  • Extensive knowledge of customer service principles.
  • Event management and planning skills.
  • Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills are required in order to advise and counsel students regarding WVU admission requirements and to communicate attributes of programs and services offered.
  • Demonstrated experience and comprehensive knowledge of publication production, proper grammar, standard editing/proofreading procedure, and journalistic principles.
  • Ability to facilitate equal access to a WVU education to all interested students.
  • Must be able to constructively and collegially interact with multiple members of the WVU community, including faculty and staff.
  • Must be able to travel occasionally (often overnight) and to work extended hours and weekends on short notice as needed.
  • Must have demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to develop constructive relationships with prospective students.
  • Must always exhibit professional behavior and image to best represent WVU to our constituents.
  • Must exhibit a positive attitude and the demonstrated ability to work well with others and be a positive contributor, as well as leader, in a team-based environment.
  • Ability to rapidly learn WVU admission requirements and financial aid requirements and regulations.
  • Ability to operate motor vehicle.
  • Physical capability to transport materials weighing an average of 25-40 pounds.
  • Proficient understanding of web-based technology, including specific knowledge of Banner and Salesforce
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite.
Requirements
