Under the direct supervision of the Group President, with additional oversight from the Group Controller, the Controller assumes a pivotal role in managing the financial operations of the Kentucky Trailer, Louisville business unit. This encompasses meticulous and timely recording of transactions, along with the preparation of financial statements compliant with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency in overseeing cash management, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and taxation, ensuring adherence to all financial policies.Essential functions

Supervisory Responsibilities: Manage the assistant controller and staff accountants to oversee transactional processing, reconciliations, and journal entry preparation. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsible for building and organizing a high performing finance team. Responsibilities include collaborating with human resources to conduct interviews and facilitate employee training. Additionally, the role involves planning, assigning, and directing work; evaluating performance; administering rewards and disciplinary measures; as well as addressing grievances and resolving issues.
Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance with 10+ years of relevant experience is required - a master's degree and/or CPA/CMA certification is a plus; supervisory experience and knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, cost accounting in a manufacturing environment, and inner-workings of ERP systems is also required. The candidate must be highly proficient in Excel and be comfortable using a variety of software packages and platforms to accumulate, manipulate, and analyze data.
