Community Outreach to Veterans

Made up exclusively of men and women disabled in our nation’s defense, the Disabled American Veterans is dedicated to one, single purpose — building better lives for all of our nation’s disabled veterans and their families.

IAVA’s mission is to improve the lives of Iraq and Afghanistan veterans and their families. IAVA addresses critical issues facing new veterans and their families, including mental health injuries, a stretched VA system, inadequate health care for female veterans, and GI Bill educational benefits.

The Morgantown WorkForce West Virginia Center serves as the entry point for a variety of employment and training services available to businesses and individuals in Monongalia and Preston Counties. The facility houses the One-Stop Center which encourages involvement of community agencies and businesses (One-Stop Partners) so that customers can receive various services at one convenient location.

The Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States, with its Auxiliaries, includes 2.2 million members in approximately 8,100 Posts worldwide. VFW honors veterans through memorial fundraising efforts, sponsorship of special events for disabled vets and by symbolically recognizing volunteer service. Donations also help victims of natural disasters and less-fortunate children. Its mission is to "honor the dead by helping the living" through veterans' service, community service, national security and a strong national defense.
